1. Besides academic performance, what else do Hong Kong universities consider to guarantee admission?

According to data and research from Grove Education, the University of Hong Kong employs a holistic review. GPA is only the first screening criterion; the real competition lies in the following three main areas:

Interview Performance (10%): This is crucial for demonstrating communication skills and critical thinking. Those who excel in interviews often stand out among competitors with similar academic achievements and backgrounds.
Personal Statement (10%): Admissions officers want to see your passion for the subject and leadership potential, not just a list of activities.
International Perspective and Relevant Experience: Students from Australian or overseas systems have an advantage in their diverse backgrounds. If you can accurately connect your overseas experience with the subject you are applying for, your chances of admission will increase significantly.

2. Does meeting the predicted grades guarantee an interview invitation or job offer?

Not necessarily. Non-Jupas takes a balanced approach: predicted grades account for about 50%, while the personal statement, letters of recommendation, interview performance, and background outside of academics account for the remaining 50%. Some disciplines, such as those at Hong Kong Baptist University, place great emphasis on the interview; those who perform exceptionally well can even gain admission with lower predicted grades.

3. Is it really easier to get accepted in the Early Round than in the Main Round?

Yes. Approximately 60% - 70% of offers from the Group of Eight universities are issued in the first round (December to February). The later you apply, the fewer places remain, and the competition increases exponentially. Therefore, we strongly recommend that students submit their applications as early as possible, before November.

4. How can the results of different educational systems (such as Australian ATAR and IB) be compared?

This is the most complex aspect of Non-JUPAS. Each university has its own internal "score conversion table."
