Seminar Introduction
Many students aspiring to enter the field of psychology find themselves confused by the academic requirements and career pathways of Educational Psychologists (EP) versus Clinical Psychologists (CP). To clear up the confusion, Grove Education has invited Phoebe, a Registered Educational Psychologist in Hong Kong, as our special guest speaker for this seminar.
Phoebe brings a wealth of international academic and practical experience. Her journey began with her A-Levels in the UK, leading to a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). She then pursued a Master of Education (MEd) in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis in the United States, before returning to HKU to complete her Master of Social Sciences in Educational Psychology—equipping her with an exceptionally strong professional background.
In this seminar, Grove Education and Phoebe will debunk common myths surrounding the field of psychology. We will break down course entry requirements and accreditation mechanisms, analyze the essential soft skills needed to become an EP, and explore diverse career opportunities beyond the traditional CP and EP routes.
Additionally, Phoebe will share her personal journey of specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), offering students interested in psychology a clear, comprehensive roadmap for their academic and professional development.
About the speakers
Host: Jayden Chan
Jayden has nearly a decade of first-hand experience living and studying in the UK. Having progressed through the British education system from boarding school to university graduation, he has a genuine and in-depth understanding of the challenges and transitions students may encounter when adapting academically and culturally.
Guest Speaker: Phoebe
Phoebe is a registered psychologist in Hong Kong. She holds both a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Hong Kong. She also obtained a Master of Education in Autism and Applied Behaviour Analysis from Endicott College in the United States. She brings extensive professional experience and a strong academic background to her practice.
